At Midtown Mutts, we help dogs and their humans build stronger, happier relationships through compassionate, science-based training. We are committed to positive reinforcement training methods rooted in modern behavioral science.
This means we use reward-based techniques—such as treats, praise, toys, and play—to reinforce desirable behaviors.
Address the most common behavioral issues and create a solid foundation. Topic include: basic obedience (sit, down, stand, stay, settle, leave it, etc.), impulse control, house training, household manners, jumping, polite greetings, leash pulling, excessive barking, crate training and much more.
Address all things puppy including: biting and mouthing, house training, crate training, chewing, puppy manners, socialization and much more.
Address reactivity (fear and aggression) towards dogs, people, objects and while walking on-leash.
Address the guarding of objects such as food and toys.
Tricks, games and dog sports (such as agility) which will build confidence, strengthen the dog-human relationship and provide activities that dogs love! These activities are great for bored, restless or lazy dogs and will increase your dog’s overall optimism.

Been working with Midtown Mutts awhile? Great plan to move toward your goals at a steady pace
A solid starting place for people who want to reach their goals faster but on a tight schedule.
A good in-between for people who are not yet sure how often their dog needs to train.
Learn with your dog at a weekly pace to help build foundational skills
Great for people with multiple dogs. Take one dog to one class and the other on another night that week.
Our 6 Week Dog Reactivity class is designed to help dogs who bark and lunge at other dogs. Does your dog bark and lunge at other dogs? Dog reactivity is a term we use to describe a set of behaviors where a dog barks, pulls towards, growls, or lunges or a combination of these behaviors towards another dog, person, bicycle, skateboarder or a variety of other stimuli.
By utilizing visual barriers, thoughtfully introducing the dogs in the class to the facility environment, and carefully escorting the dogs into the building one by one, we’ve designed this class to avoid dog reactions.

What is K9 Nose Work?
You know how working dogs can be trained to use their sense of smell to detect all sorts of things, like explosives, drugs, wildlife,
cancer, blood sugar levels etc? The sport of K9 Nose Work replicates these working jobs for a dog sport you can do with your dog,
either just for fun or competitively.
This 6-week class will teach you and your dog the foundations of fitness and agility. Watch your dog's confidence grow as you work together to learn basic agility obstacles, including jumps, tunnels, and the A-frame.
Wondering if Agility for Fun is right for your dog?Dogs who are easily distracted during group classes are welcome, however, they may need to spend more time building focus and taking decompression breaks as needed.
It is strongly recommended that your dog know a basic stay and recall, as these are important foundation skills. Don't worry if these skills still need work, we will be strengthening them throughout class.
Dogs of any age are welcome, provided they are fully vaccinated. Puppies under one year of age will be given modified exercises designed to reduce impact on their growing bodies.
